An early ultrasound helps to measure the development of your baby and how old your fetus is. This ultrasound is also termed a dating ultrasound.
Fetal growth is very fast at this stage. The embryo should be 5 to 9 millimeters and the gestational sac must be between 18 to 24 millimeters during the 7-week ultrasound.
